Meet Dr. Stocks
A native of Houston, Texas - Dr. Stocks graduated from the University of St. Thomas for her undergraduate studies and in 2017 from Midwestern University, School of Podiatric Medicine where she received her Doctorate degree. She also completed a rigorous 3-year podiatric medicine and surgical residency program at the Carl T. Hayden Phoenix VA Medical Center…

Trusted by Patients Across Arizona
At Arizona Foot & Wound Specialists, we’re proud to care for young athletes who bring energy, talent, and a little bit of star power to our clinic. Whether they’re recovering from a sports injury or just needing help with common concerns like ingrown toenails, we’re here to keep them in the game.
And yes—sometimes they look like K-drama stars, too!
“After months of persistent toe and foot pain, I had already seen two podiatrists, both of whom insisted I needed immediate, major surgery on my big toe, followed by 2-3 months off my feet. With my health concerns and slow healing, surgery was a last resort I desperately wanted to avoid.
Then I found Dr. Sophia Stocks, and everything changed. She reassured me that such drastic procedures weren’t necessary and instead took a gentle, conservative approach to my treatment. Not only did her method work perfectly, but she also took the time to educate me about the root causes of my pain and how to prevent future issues. After she finished "sculpting" my nails, Dr. Stocks fitted me with the right orthotics, and I walked out of her office completely pain-free—without having to pause my regular exercise routine!
Thanks to Dr. Stocks’ skill and caring nature, I’ve had no further problems. She truly has a gift for healing and patient care. If you’re looking for an outstanding physician, I highly recommend consulting Dr. Sophia Stocks—she is incredible! As an added bonus her office staff and amenities are very comfortable AND located on a beautiful property!”

When Should You Go to the Doctor for an Ingrown Toenail?
Ingrown toenails can sometimes be managed on its own, but it’s recommended to visit your foot specialist in case an infection may occur on the toenail. If you detect any sign of an ingrown toenail infection like pain, swelling, irritation, abscess or redness, it’s important for you to see an ingrown toenail specialist. At Arizona Foot & Wound Specialists we’re ready to help you out with your feet problems and give you the care you deserve and need.
“Dr. Stocks and her team have been such a wonderful and pleasant surprise! Each time I have gone has somehow been even better than the last and have me leaving feeling absolutely wonderful, the work they do is astonishingly quick and with high quality. I wouldn't trust anyone but this team to have work done of any kind. One of the best doctors you could go to and have the easiest of time getting settled in. They make you feel like family and not just a patient.”

DR. SOPHIA STOCKS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Empowering the Future: Inspiring the Next Generation of Podiatrists
At Arizona Foot & Wound Specialists, we believe in giving back — not only to our patients, but also to the next generation of podiatric physicians. As an alumna of Midwestern University, Dr. Stocks established the Dr. Sophia Stocks Scholarship to support and celebrate students pursuing careers in foot and wound medicine.
Each year, scholarships are awarded to exceptional students from the Midwestern University College of Podiatric Medicine, honoring dedication, leadership, and compassion in patient care.
2025 Scholarship Awards
In 2025, Dr. Stocks returned once again to her alma mater to proudly present three scholarships to students from the Class of 2025. As a passionate advocate for education and mentorship, she continues to pay it forward by investing in future podiatrists.
Chosen for their heart, skill, and vision, these students embody the values Dr. Stocks holds dear: putting patients first, striving for excellence, and leading with integrity. Through this scholarship, Dr. Stocks hopes to encourage these new graduates as they begin their journey into a rewarding and challenging profession.
2024 Scholarship Awards
The launch of the Dr. Sophia Stocks Scholarship in 2024 marked a special milestone for our practice. That year, Dr. Stocks had the incredible honor of delivering the commencement address to the Class of 2024, offering heartfelt reflections and practical insights drawn from her own career.
Following the speech, she presented the first-ever Dr. Sophia Stocks Scholarship Award to outstanding students who showed promise, passion, and perseverance in the field of podiatric medicine. The moment was a celebration of both achievement and possibility — and the start of a meaningful tradition for Arizona Foot & Wound Specialists.
Why It Matters
This scholarship program is more than a financial award — it's a way to build relationships with future leaders in podiatric medicine and continue raising the standard of care for foot and wound health.

“Beyond grateful I found this place! The staff is nice and friendly. Dr. Stocks is amazing. Gave me a rundown of everything that was wrong with my foot. Gave me several options on how I can treat at home or if I wanted them to treat it since I don’t have insurance and had to pay out of pocket. I decided to get it treated there since in my opinion the prices they gave me weren’t bad at all. She’s super friendly and was cracking jokes to help me to not get tense since I was getting surgery. She came in got the job done in a matter of a couple minutes and I was out. Will definitely go back if I ever have foot pain and I will definitely be recommending her to friends and family. She also speaks Spanish which is very awesome! :)”
